Barring covers the legs and causes striping up over the shoulers and hindquarters. It's always darker than the base or black, and should be close to the saturation and hue of the base.

Barring should always have crisp edges and a symmetrical appearance. Stripes should not reach onto the neck or barrel and cannot show unnatural swirls or breaks.

Barring never affects the mane or tail. It will also never change the eye or skincolour of the Kirin.

Striping may cover all of the hindquarters and shoulders at most. It will never reach onto the barrel or neck.
