SADDLE

Saddle darkens the fur on the back of the Kirin, and may affect the shoulders, flanks and face. This marking doesn't change the skin or eyecolour of the Kirin, which will display as it would normally for the colour.
This symmetrical marking is always darker than the base or black, and should be close to the base in hue and saturation. Saddle has crisp edges but may be blended into the base below slightly in some areas as long as it's still a clearly defined shape. Saddle can form many different shapes, but must appear natural in its expression. It must always remain a single connected marking, excluding the face markings. This marking will never have irregular holes or spots.
The mane and tail are never affected by Saddle.
Minimal
Saddle must at least be displayed as a small marking somewhere on the back of the Kirin. This can be near the withers, in the middle of the back or near the tail.
Medium
Usually Saddle will cover most of the back area. It may extend onto the shoulder or up to halfway up the neck from there. Face markings may be present or not.
Maximal
Saddle may reach from the middle of the neck up to just before the base of the tail, and can cover the entire flank. The shoulders may be extensively covered.
The face marking may cover roughly 50% of the face.
