Though most scales will be determined by pre-drawn bases, when using a Scale of Dusuri for line edits and custom horns or scales, they are extremely freeform and varied in what you can do. From very small to very large, flat or flared up, spiky or smooth you have a lot of options.

Scales should always be either lined or defined by leaving the coat below to shine through in between the scales. They can never be a singular blob of colour without definition or too blurry in their application. They can be clustered or scattered and may overlay eachother slightly.

Below are some examples for scales based on old designs. Please note that these are ONLY to be referenced conerning scales, not horns, markings or colours. Beginning with the smallest and largest possible scales and followed by some examples regarding spikes and shapes you are able to do.
