Markings are typically layered in a specific way, meaning some markings will go over or under others while some may even have multiple options. This guide is meant to help you figure out how to layer your design and is meant to be read from the top of the page down. Meaning the marking above another is overlaid by the one listed below it. If two or more Markings are listed together, they can be layered interchangeably.

Base Colours

All base colours including those with cream or lilac dilutions form the start of your design. Do these first.

Dapples, Pangare, Pallid, Roan, Grease Spots, Brindle, Tint & Torched

Shaded, Tan Marks, Primitive, Bay, Fox, Pointed, Saddle, Dorsal & Sooty

Silver, Tear, Barring, Striped, Spotted & Inking

Grey & Kintsugi

Natural White, White, Leopard Appaloosa, Piebald, Fawn, Rain, Birdcatcher, Chubari & Vitiligo
