SINGLE COLOUR
[Sc(x)]
Single colour means there is one colour present in the genotype and only one colour will show on the horns, scales, hooves and eyes. The phenotype will list the colour at the start, such as 'Natural', 'Red' or 'Purple'. You will be able to choose a colour from the corresponding palette to use on the design.
Kirins with a Single colour will have the same colour for their Horns, Scales and Hooves. Any colour but Natural can furthermore affect the eyes as well, though this detail is completely optional. When combined with a white marking, the horns, scales and hooves may be lightened where the white marking connects. This lightening effect may desaturate the colour slightly, but can never increase saturation or change the hue. It also should never be too bright in comparison to the rest.
Kirins with a natural horncolour always have the eyecolour as dictated by their coat. If an unnatural colour such as red is present, the eyes may be red too, or have a red heterochromia with the natural eyecolour.
DUAL COLOUR
[Dc(xx)]
Dual colour means there are two colours present in the genotype and two colours will show on the horns, scales, hooves and eyes. The phenotype will list both colours in conjunction for this, such as 'Natural & Blue', 'Red & Yellow' or 'Green & Purple'. You will be able to choose a colour from each of the corresponding palettes to use on the design.
Dual coloured Horns and scales may be gradiented, hard edged, or both. The secondary colour can show as individual scales or stripes on the horns. If a white pattern is present below the scales, they may reflect the pattern with their own two colours.
Eyes can be a single one of the two colours, but can also be a gradient of the two or show as heterochromia.
FADE
Fade is a free marking that can affect Single and Dual Coloured Horns and Scales both. It will add a faint gradient to the otherwise flat colour, with a second colour selected from the same colour swatch. This colour can be darker, lighter, more saturated or less saturated than the initial chosen colour, but shouldn't be too far off from it either. As a rule of thumb, you should not pick a colour further from your base than the blue example below.
ETCHED
Etched is a free marking that affects the horns and scales of a Kirin, and functions the same way as Fade in the way the secondary colour is chosen. Only instead of a gradient, it may add patterns to the horns and may cause scales to have some mild colour variation. The scales can't be patterned like the horns, it only colours some of them differently.
When the Kirin has Dual coloured horns and scales, the etching colour can be chosen seperately for each colour and its possible for only one of the two colours to display etching.
