Dapples can show up on any Kirin, regardless of genetics and manifest themselves as soft edges spots that are slightly lighter than the rest of the coat. They show up most strongly on the flanks, lower shoulder and hindquarters but can appear on the entire Kirin with the exception of the lower legs and face.

Dapples are a somewhat symmetrical, semi-soft marking and spots should be evenly spaced and not too mich bigger or smaller than the examples given.

It will never affect the eye or skincolour of the Kirin and can't change the colour of the mane or tail.

Dapples, if present, should start on the flank areas. They are always lighter than the base and close together. They shouldn't be too randomly placed or scattered too far apart on the Kirin.

Dapples can fade into the coat and will often do so towards the back or chest area.

Dapples may affect most of the body, but shouldn't affect the lower legs or face. Some faint dappling may be present on the cheek as it fades out towards the face.
