RNG   TRAITS

RNG Traits are Markings or Modifiers that may be randomly rolled in a breeding or whenever a new starter is rolled. They can not be bred for and are not inherited by offspring. They act as random mutations that may sometimes show up on a phenotype. A Kirin may roll up to three RNG Traits at once, though its also entirely possible it will roll none at all.

All RNG Traits can be hidden completely. If you rolled one that you dislike, you can choose not to show it on the design although it's noted down in the Phenotype. What is shown below are minimal to maximal examples if you do decide to show the trait on the design.

BIRDCATCHER

Birdcatcher spots are a common RNG Trait that manifests as small white spots on the coat. Pink spots on the muzzle will cause pink skin to show, but they can't change the eyecolour. They must be small and scattered, and may not form patterns or shapes.

CHUBARI

Chubari spots are a common RNG Trait similar to Birdcatcher in that is causes white spots on the coat. Only the spots are much larger. If they overlay the muzzle they can cause pink skin, but never blue eyes even if they are close to the eye.

GREASE   SPOTS

Grease spots are a common RNG Trait that causes dark spots to appear on the coat. These should always be darker than the base coat, but never fully black. They do not change the skin or eyecolour.

VITILIGO

Vitiligo is an uncommon RNG Trait that causes the fur and skin near the muzzle, eyes and soft areas to depigment, which causes white fur and pink skin in those places. It will however never affect the eyecolour. Vitiligo is often spotty and irregular in shape.

BRINDLE

Brindle is an uncommon RNG Trait and shows itself as thin, heavily textured striping on the Kirin. Brindle can be lighter or darker than the base, including black and white, but will not change the skin or eyecolour of the Kirin.

CHIMERA

Chimerism is a rare RNG trait, and causes the Kirin to display patches of an entire secondary genotype. That secondary genotype is only a visible factor and will have no impact on future breeding.

INKING

Inking is a rare RNG trait that causes dark markings on the face of a Kirin. These markings can be a mixture of crisp, semi-soft and gradiented edges and often resemble the outlines of a snarling face. They do not change the skin or eyecolour.

TINT

Tint is a rare RNG trait, that causes the fur of a Kirin to have a soft gradiented sheen of a different colour. That secondary colour can be any natural or unnatural colour, but will always be see through and leave some of the base below to shine through. Tint doesn't affect the skin or eyecolour of a Kirin.

TORCHED

Torched is a rare RNG Trait that causes the mane and tail of the Kirin to become flame coloured, while also affecting the eye to give it a bright colour and darker red pupils. Sometimes, this marking may add a yellow or orange sheen to the neck and withers, and cause bright yellow spots to appear throughout the coat.
